Rosy Campanita is a queer artist, born to a Mexican immigrant family, and was raised in the culturally rich neighborhoods of Pilsen and Little Village in Chicago, IL.  She studied Fine Art at S.A.I.C (School of the Art Institute of Chicago) and dropped out in 2003 with significant student debt which she has since been lugging around while documenting cultural life, land struggle, and resilience with a focus on Indigenous communities, immigration, and LGBTQ+ communities throughout the so-called “United States” and "Mexico".  They have exhibited in local galleries, grassroots organizations, and social venues in Chicago, IL, Chiapas, Mexico and recently at the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican-American Cultural Center in Austin, TX.  Rosy is currently residing in Austin, TX and has collaborated and partnered with People’s Media Project, Owe-Aku (Bring Back the Way), Tiempo de Caracol Art Collective, and is the founder of Pochtekameh Creative Arts Studio and AxolotlsWithoutBorders.org
